Stay Safe. Wear Mask and Maintain Social Distancing. Let's flatten the curve. #COVID

Corona Virus (COVID-19)

COVID-19 also known as corona virus is a very dangerous virus which is believed to spread from animal (bat) to humans and humans to other humans. The name corona means crown because of the virus’ structure. The origin of this virus is believed to be from Wuhan, China.

COVID-19 is more dangerous for elderly people and people who already have health conditions. Corona virus spreads to one person and that person spreads to 3 people, that is how the virus spreads.

To avoid getting germs from other people wear mask, stay at least 6 feet away from people, use sanitizer, carry sanitizer when you are going outside and wash your hands with water and soap for at least 20 seconds frequently.

To be honest, the mask doesn’t help at all if you don’t cover your nose. If you put your mask on your chin, the germs from your chin will be in your mask and when you put your mask on, the germs will be on your face.

So far 18,444,642 confirmed cases of corona virus COVID-19 have been reported in 213 countries and its territories around the world. The death toll from Corona virus COVID-19 is 697,189 so far. In Nepal we have 20,750 cases and 57 deaths as of today (03/08/2020).

Italy is one of the most affected countries and the main reason for this is believed to be that people there wear the same shoes everywhere, in their house, outside, in the mall, restaurants, etc. Symptoms of COVID-19 are: high fever, dry cough, tiredness, ache and pains, sore throat, diarrhea, headache, conjunctivitis. Once it becomes serious, the symptoms are; difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure and loss of speech or movement.

If you have mild symptoms please isolate yourself, have plenty of rest, drink hot water with lemon and honey, drink lots of soupy stuff. If your symptoms are serious, then only please contact health officials or visit the hospital.

Of course, this virus has so many negative impacts and done lots of damage to the world killing hundreds of thousands of people and infecting millions. It is bringing the world’s strongest nations to its knees but people don’t realize that corona virus has also few positive impacts; I believe it is helping to heal our mother Earth, bringing down air pollution massively because of lockdown.  People are getting more compassionate and connected. Families could spend more time together bonding and learning new skills such as cooking, gardening, painting and also yoga and meditation. (Stay tuned for my next article on yoga).

So until then, Please stay safe, healthy, keep physical distance, take care of yourselves and those around you. Namaste!!!!
